Re: Two-layer gelatin emulsions?

I have deleted a few off-topic posts from this thread. Calling them "off-topic" is me being polite. We have some members of this forum who clearly have difficulty getting along. I have no expectation everyone be friends, but the exhibition presented in this thread (prior to my deletions) ...

Re: problem with attachments

I think this is now fixed. A default option for the forum software set a quota on the total size for all attachment files. The quota has been lifted.

Thirty hour server outage

My part of the world had a "weather event" this past Saturday (March 23, 2024). It was originally predicted to be a dusting of snow, but ended up being something far more severe. We got a little snow, then sleet, then a lot of snow, then rain, then ice, then more snow. A lot of tree limbs ...

Re: Status of email service

Well, I am pleased with how it is all working now. I hope others are, too. Real-world restrictions on what you can do with a home Internet connection has forced me to do things I didn't even know I needed to do...and those things have reduced the number of spammer forum registrations for several hun...

Re: Selling policy on holography forum

This is a good time to revisit the selling policy for the forum. The site is no longer being hosted on my employee's network, and it is has now found it's home at my home, on my home Internet connection. Despite the change in hosting, though, I see no reason to change the policy. I repeat my comment...

Re: Thank you John Fisher

You are most welcome. I will continue to do what I can to keep this forum alive. I am not a holographer by any means (well, certainly not a very good one), but holography is still fascinating to me (as a hobbyist). So, I will do my part to support the committee. If any one cares, I am trying now to ...

Status of email service

As it turns out, running an email server from a home broadband connection is unnecessarily complicated. In the past, I didn't need a local server; Gmail was willing to handle all the traffic as long as it was from a known gmail.com address. I used holographyforum@gmail.com. Life was simple. Then Goo...

Re: security issue

Mea culpa.

When I transferred the holographyforum.org domain, I left out including the www.holographyforum.org name in the DNS records. Unfortunately, the www name was required for the cert renewal process the way I set it up...and it expired today.

Should be more better now.

Several posts to this thread that were directed more at each other and not the topic at hand have been moved to "The Dump". Please, let's just let the matter die there.

Re: Insults and character assassination

Sorry, for not catching this earlier. Unfortunately, I'd been distracted with other things. Thing Number 1: We are supposed to be adults, here. Let's all at least pretend to be. Thing Number 2: As my mother would often say in my formative years: I do not care who started this; I'm ending it. Thing N...
